This makes me happy

I am so lucky to have an amazingly talented husband. One of his many areas of awesomeness includes being great with music; he sings and plays a ton of instruments. His favorite is his guitar. The other day he found his harmonicas and Jackson has been in love with them. They will be great musicians together some day. Here is a little glimpse into the future.

Christmas Day

I loved Christmas this year! Jackson understood Santa and was so excited to get up and see all the presents he'd left him for being such a good boy. Santa even ate all the cookies we left out and left Jackson a little thank you note.

On christmas eve we all had on our matching PJ bottoms i'd made ( well, the girls matched and the boys matched, but they both had a green snow flake pattern). Of course katie woke up with a mess so she wasnt wearing them this morning.

Here are the kids with their stockings (bryan thinks its dumb when i just all them socks)

Because we had church at 11 we only opened stockings in the morning and the kids each got one gift to open. Katie got a cute christmas dress to wear to church. Jackson chose to open a gift from one of bryan's dental school friends. He was in love with his lightning McQueen guitar- really, could life get any better when those 2 things are combined?

Jackson got a lot of lightning McQueen stuff, like the backpack he's wearing, a piggy bank and his very own laptop. He cant really understand how to play any of the games on it, but he likes to pretend. And it keeps him from trying to get our computers all the time.

Opening a present together from grandma and grandpa burrows

Roar! Jackson's dragon puppet. If you ask him he'll tell you its a nice dragon and not to be scared of him.

A transformer! Jackson had asked santa for a robot.

Katie likes chewing on her new blocks. She also got some stuffed fruit and veggies that are perfect to chew on too.

Jackson and Katie got bryan a remote control helicopter, but jackson was just excited as daddy when it was opened.

Bryan managed to spoil me again with a new lense and flash for my camara and a few other gadgets to go along with them

Jackson loves his new easle. It has a white board, chalk board and paper. He got his very first paints to go with it too.

Katie also got a gift certificate to get her ears pierced. We went and got that done on boxing day ( that would be december 26th to all you americans). I dont have a great picture of it, but they look super cute!

Our Super-Awesome-Fantastic Disney Adventure

We had so much fun at Disney World!!! It took a couple of days for Jackson to get really really into all the happiness, but then we couldnt stop him from trying to meet every character he saw, and wave at anyone he could. We bought the kids mickey and minnie ears our second day there. Jackson loved waking up every morning and putting them on to pretend to be mickey mouse. And katie is just stinkin' adorable with those huge ears on her little head. I'm just going to let you explore all our pictures, it would take too long for me to put a caption on all of them. I am so glad we made this trip! The kids were a great age to go. Katie was even able to go on most of the rides!

We had one extra day in florida so we headed to Daytona Beach. jackson loved the sand and looking for sea shells, but ran away from the water coming up from the waves. (the water was super cold though). Katie even laughed when bryan put her toes in the sand. But became much less happy when a rougue wave  came crashing over her little legs.

O Christmas Tree

We put up our christmas tree last night! I love christmas. Its the only holiday i decorate for. But i love getting those decorations out- when i do i suddenly just become happier. Bryan is in his last 2 weeks of school before christmas break. He is crazy busy. So jackson and i put the tree together and put lights on. Then bryan took a break and came to help us decorate.

Katie's first christmas! yay!

Jackson loved this pickle ornament and kept telling me to pretend to eat it. He also found out colts football ornament, which is of a little boy in a colts uniform and told me it was a picture of him. How smart- i think he remembered how we dressed him at halloween.

He tried to put the star on top, but was just a bit short. Bryan ended up doing it in the end.

Jackson put all the "filler balls" on the tree at the end. I love how they are all at the bottom. I took a picture like this before i sent him to bed, them rearranged.

I am so excited for bryan to be done his finals. In less than 2 weeks we will be in disneyworld! and then we are only home for a few days before christmas. Jackson is so excited for Santa to come.

solid food- help?

Katie is just over 6 months old, and should be ready to start eating solid foods. we started trying about 2 weeks ago. we have been completely unsuccessful.

Despite the fact that she reaches for the spoon and shoves it in her mouth, she HATES it! as soon as food touches her toungue she starts blowing raspberries- successfully covering me, her and our floor in rice cereal.

I have tried rice cereal mixed with formula, breast milk, plain water, apple sauce and apple juice. All attempts have been met with equal dislike. I might try moving on to a different type of cereal, but i really think its just the texture she cant stand. any tips on how to get this little girly to eat?? i need some help.
