Here's a the short story of her arrival...

On monday the 23rd Bryan and I headed to the hopital at 7:30 am for my induction scheduled at 8. We were a little late. Luckily my mom was here already and able to look after Jackson.

Here's bryan and I ready and excited to meet our baby girl!

Due to a series of misfortunate events my induction wasn't actually started until 11am. I was dilated to 3 so they just started pitocin. When i was checked 4 hours later i was still only 3cm. And I got a little discouraged thinking this was going to be a long haul just like with Jackson. Around 6 i got my epidural (what a wonderful thing!)  and then just after shift change my water broke, and i was checked a few minutes later at 7:30 and was 7 cm! woohoo! I was then told i'd get checked again in about 2 hours unless i felt a need otherwise. Well, i felt the need! Before 8 i was a full 10 cm dilated! (i honestly thank the epidural for this sudden and speedy dilation because i think it just let me relax enough for the contractions to work). The dr had to run out quick and so we decided to let me "labor down", or just let the contractions do the work for a while and me not push. The dr got back just after 9, lifted my blanket and everyone started telling me not to laugh or sneeze because she would pop out. I tried very hard not to laugh as everyone ran around like mad men. When the dr was finally in position the nurse told me i could push once for fun if i wanted... so i laughed and out she popped! No real pushing required- it was amazing!!!

The nurses kept saying that her nickname should be giggles since thats how she entered the world.

Here's our new family of 4, the first time Jackson met Katie. We have this on video instead of pictures, wish i knew how to post it. Jackson loves her! he gives her kisses all the time. When he cant see her he tells us the baby is sleeping in her bed and he goes upstairs to look at her. It is very sweet.

Jast in case you wanted to see the before picture- no it's not pretty and bryan wouldnt let me take a "typical" pregnany shot.

This is just before we headed home. We only stayed 24 hours.

When jackson met Katie the first time we gave him a backpack full of toys and books that was from her. He is wearing it here. He loved it.

We  have had a slightly rough start, but things are working out. Katie is actually sleeping now which is amazing!!! And i am so beyond grateful for my mom being here to help me! And jackson loves having her anyway. We are so excited to have Katie part of our family. She is an awesome and sweet little girl.
