The freezing rain has finally stopped!!! And miraculously we have not lost power. At least not yet. The wind is supposed to be picking up and causing more power outages throughout the city today. But i felt very blessed to wake up to electricity this morning. The ice is over an inch thick! I have never seen anything like this in my life.
Bryan has been sick for the last few days, but today he was feeling well enough to go get the ice off of the car (because they will probably have school tomorrow). Bryan's school was cancelled for today and yesterday. A friend in second year told us the school hasnt closed in seven years. So yes, this is a pretty bad storm.
Here is my hubby holding a piece of ice he broke off the car. 
It may look like snow, but that is pure ice folks. Bryan couldnt get down the few stairs to our car without having to slide down on his bottom.

I am so glad the storm has passed. I hope everyone stays safe and warm for the next few days as it isnt supposed to get above freezing until the weekend.
