Potty trained!!!

That's right folks, Jackson is 100% potty trained. He hasnt had a real accident in about 5 days- woohoo!!! But boy was it ever an adventure. It took about 3 weeks, though by day 4 he was doing awesome at telling me, and actually peeing in the potty. Number 2? that took a lot longer. Despite bribing jackson with hot wheels and candy he would just not do it. He constipated himself and/or would wait till nap or bedtime to do his business in his underwear- sooo frustrating. And about a week ago i was ready to give up. Then i witnessed a MIRACLE!!! I am not exaggerating. one day he was refusing to go poop on the potty, wouldnt push when he sat down, was holding it in, crying, throwing hissy fits about it.... fast forward to the next day when i heard him whining in his room at nap time so i went upstairs to ask what was wrong and he said "poopy" and of course i'm thinking "oh crap (literally) he pooped his pants again" ( i hate laundry any time, but cleaning poopy underwear at least once/day for over 2 weeks... i hate that the most). But to my utter astonishment there was no poop in there!! so i took him to the bathroom and low and behold, with zero crying, fussing or holding back he did his business, then promptly asked for a car and treat. and since then he has been great. Does that not count as a miracle??
So the most humorous thing about potty training is that jackson has now peed on his forhead twice, ang in his mouth once! you see, he likes to lean over to see himself peeing in the potty, but if hes not in the right position (aka: things arent pointed down enough) the pee shoots forward. and if jackson is in the right spot it kinda hits him in the forhead, or if he pees enough, it will run down his forhead into his mouth. Poor guy- but seriously, this was hilarious. I am so grateful this process is OVER! Who knew that potty trainign would be full of so much crying and so many breakdowns... for mom! haha.
Well, now i'm dealing with katie having her first fever, which i am hoping and praying subsides soon with nothing eventful happening.

  1. So jealous... 3 poopie underwears today... WHY WON'T HE POOP ON THE POTTY!!! however, the pee is generally a success. We are so proud of Jackson.

  2. Way to go!! We tried for a whole one day and we ended up with lots of pee everywhere and breakdowns... so I gave it up since I thought he wasn't physically ready. Brayden didn't seem able to tell when it was coming or able to hold it in and he would just cry every time. Was it like that for Jackson and then just after a few days he figured it out?!
