First Hair Cut

This past sunday, Mother's Day, I finally gave Jackson his first hair cut. I knew it was time. Mostly just the back needed cutting. It was close to 2 inches long. And he was getting a very stylish mullet. But it was sad/hard for me to cut off all his baby hair... especially when i wasn't sure how it would turn out. Here is our hair cutting adventure...
Pretty happy before it all started. Probably because he was allowed to go running around in only a diaper for a few minutes

Such long hair in the back.

Overall, he did really well with the whole experience. Bryan kept him fairly distracted, and he liked playing with the different attachements for the trimmer.

Looking good! No more wings!!!

It's a little bit hard to see because his hair is still wet, but we took off a lot of length in the back.

Jackson is one stylin' guy now. I was scared for no reason. The haircut turned out great!

He's Walking!!!

That's right! Our little boy has decided it is time to go exploring on only feet! We are so excited.

We truly didn't expect him to start walking any time soon. Whenever we would try to encourage him by letting him walk with our fingers, he would sit down as soon as we'd let go. he seemed to have no motivation to walk solo. But last night, after we'd tried walking him between us on the ground, and had determined we were unsuccessful yet again, jackson was leaning on our chair in the living room. With Bryan just a few feet away, with outstretched arms and encouraging words, Jackson took one step and slowly another until he got to daddy.

So we decided we'd try again- and he did it! The third, fourth and fifth times we got on video (but i dont know how to load those on here so you'll have to survive with just pictures). This little man is walking clear across our living room and throught the kitchen now! He is so awesome and we are so proud of him!

I would like to give credit to little Anna Belle and Jeremiah, who are 1 and 2 months older than Jackson. We went and did pudding finger painting with them ealier that morning... they are both walking. I'm so glad jackson was inspired by them.
We had so much fun! Here are some pictures of the fun afternoon we spent upstairs.
Before the real fun began (all clean)

Jackson mostly enjoyed eating the pudding, but ended up pretty messy in the end
Yumm!!!

This was such an awesome idea! It was so much fun for everyone!

This is the final product, just before we put all the kids into the tub. They are so stinkin' adorable!!!

Jackson wasn't so fond of the splashing by kids other than himself so we didn't stay too long. But i love this tub picture! What a fun afternoon! Thanks trudy!

Happy First Birthday Jackson!

On April 6 we celebrated Jackson's first birthday! Happy birthday little man! We love him soo sooo much! He is such a huge blessing in our lives. It's hard to think that We've been parents for one full year! It's scary to think of too- i hope we're doing an OK job of it!

Since we don't have much family around we had a little party for him in the afternoon with a few friends. Tomorrow Bryan's parents will be here with his brother and family so we'll have a second little bash then.

I made Jackson a football cake to destroy ( it turned out rather well in my opinion). He didn't exactly demolish the cake, but he did enjoy the icing very very much. I was scared he'd get sick from all the sugar but he did good. In fact, he wouldn't eat any vegetables later and we think it's because he just wanted more cake.

Thankyou to everyone who came out to celebrate Jackson's special day with us. We really appreciate it and love you all! You made the day even better!
Here are a few pictures from the big day!

Turning one!

What a good looking family :)

This picture was taken at 10:24 am on April 6- exactly 1 year old!! And so happy about it too!

Here's the football cake i made for Jackson as well as a few of the cupcakes i made for everyone else to eat. I love the footballs!!! I think jackson is cursed to grow up to play and watch football.

The first taste...

And it's GOOD!

The damage done

Trying to share with Jared

Getting a hug from Noah

Checking out the toy box with the littler Jared and Hannah

Noah, Jared and Lauren helped Jackson figure out how to open presents. Hannah and brigden are coming to help out in the background

After the party, playing with his new toys from mom and dad. He loved sitting in his play tent and trying to build things with his mega blocks. Later i gave him a book that sings to him and he sat in there reading it. So cute.

It was a wonderful day! We can't wait for all the fun years to come!

P.S. Jackson had his one year check-up today. He is 21lbs 10oz, 30.5 inches long and of course his head is in the 75-90 percentile :) He's a healthy boy.

Solid Foods!

Jackson is now starting to eat solid foods. He loves it!!!Now the problem is trying to get him to take formula. He hates the taste of it! He has gotten sick on a soy formula and now we think he associates the taste of formula with being sick and he won't touch it, even in the smallest amounts. So we're gonna back off for a bit and try again at the end of october or start of November
