Happy Canada Day!

On July 1st we put up our canada flag, snapped a few pictures and then headed off to Chicago for a few days. So sadly we didnt get to really celebrate our holiday. It woul dhave only been us this year anyway since the other canadians that were here have graduated and left us now. (we miss you!)

 

Chicago is a HUGE city. I have been in big cities before, but never one so busy. It reminded my of the street shots you see in movies where the sidewalks are just packed with people. It was a really fun experience. Jackson got to ride on a real "choo-choo train", the metra, which is an old train set up to take you around the city. And he and katie also got to go on their very first bus ride when we went to the zoo, and then to millenium park. we also got to eat some yummy food; fresh pasta is so much better than dehydrated, and the deep dish pizza is amazing! It was literally over an inch thick with about half an inch of cheese on the bottom, followed by a solid layer of meat and topped off with fresh tomato sauce. Definitely an experience you cant miss out on.

Jackson fell alseep in his stroller on our way to find Lumalnati's- where we got this awesome pizza.

Our friends had a 4th of july BBQ party- Dan made some amazing ribs and later we got to see some fireworks set off by his neighbor- it was almost as good as the city show.

Katie and Scarlet are 2 weeks and 1 day apart- can you guess who's the older one?

They're pretty close in size now. Katie is older.

Now we're home for a few days and then off to Palmyra!
