For our final trip this summer we went to meet bryans parents and sister's family in Palmyra for the pageant. we decided to take 2 days getting up there and stopped in Kirtland on our way. I really wish we'd had more than a few hours to spend there. But it was a neat place to visit.
Here we are infront (ok, beside) the kirtland temple which is now owned by the community of christ church (RLDS). It was neat to see.
We went into this store, which stands where the original one did. But we had to skip the tour of the whitney home, the Inn, the ashery and the saw mill because we were running short on time and jackson was getting cranky. Like i said, i wish we'd had more time.
Just another cute picture of Katie from the trip
Hyrum pushing Jackson through the store where the book of mormon was first published. We've been to palmyra before but it was good to see everything again. I didnt realize, or remember, that it took 2 years for the first book to be published because it took 7 months to print and another 13 to bind.
The angel moroni monument at the top of hill cummorahLooking down from the top of the hill to all the pageant seating- room for 9000 people!
Jackson and the boy cousins infront of the smith home
Athena giving jackson a hug in the sacred grove
Katie got to hang out a lot with grandpa burrows before the pageant started. He's just like bryan and doesnt like to take nice pictures
Dorians birthday was the next day so some of the cast came and sang to him because kristi and jarrod knew the guy playing young moroni (far right)
The pageant was amazing! If you ever have the chance to go, you need to go.
A scene when christ was talking to the nephites
The finale, showing most of the prophets from the book of mormon as well as joseph smith up on the hill.
Bryans parents came to spend 2 days at our house afterwards. it was wonderful to have them come. Here's jackson and grandma walking around downtown
Grandma and grandpa burrows with our babies
This is a special picture featuring a cucmber from my very first garden! Jackson couldnt wait to eat it.
Love the post! Love the cucumber more! That's great that Jackson is posed, ready to eat.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time visiting with Bryan & Amber & Katie & Jackson. The walk along the canal was so nice. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do much before we had to leave to go back to work. Glad Amber took some pictures of Hill Cumorah & the pagent. Our camera got left in the car.
